1. Who we are

Harnova Labs operates Immi-Assist, an independent Canadian immigration information companion. Immi-Assist is not a government service, law firm, or immigration consultancy and is not affiliated with IRCC or the Government of Canada.

2. Information you provide

Depending on the features you use, we may process your name, email address, mobile number, authentication-provider identifiers, profile photo, pathway and checklist selections, deadlines, eligibility-form answers, notification choices, support messages, AI prompts, and documents or text you choose to analyze.

Do not provide passwords, one-time codes, banking information, or documents that are not needed. Full passports are not uploaded by default. Document extraction should run on-device where supported, and identifiers are minimized or redacted before server processing where the feature permits.

3. Information collected automatically

We may receive device and installation identifiers, push-notification tokens, app version, locale, feature interactions, diagnostic logs, crash data, security attestations, approximate network information, and timestamps. We do not use this information for cross-app advertising tracking.

4. Why we use information

• Provide authentication, profiles, personalized checklists, reminders, and requested app features.
• Deliver opted-in push, email, and SMS communications.
• Answer ImmiAssist questions using indexed official sources and maintain safety controls.
• Prevent abuse, enforce quotas, investigate failures, and improve reliability and accessibility.
• Meet legal obligations and respond to valid privacy requests.

5. Service providers

We use service providers that may process information on our behalf, including Apple, Google Firebase and Google Cloud, OpenAI, email-delivery providers, and SMS providers such as Twilio when those functions are enabled. Their processing is governed by their agreements and privacy terms. We do not sell personal information.

6. AI and official-source content

Prompts sent to ImmiAssist may be processed by an AI provider to generate a response. Responses can be incomplete or incorrect and are not legal advice. Policy-sensitive answers are designed to include official sources and freshness information. Always confirm important decisions on Canada.ca or with an authorized professional.

7. Notifications

Communication preferences are stored with your account and enforced by channel and topic. You can change them in the app. Push permission is controlled by iOS; email and SMS delivery may also be affected by provider and carrier systems. Sensitive immigration status or application numbers are not intentionally placed in push payloads.

8. Retention and deletion

We retain account information while your account is active and operational records only as long as reasonably required for the purposes above, security, dispute resolution, or law. When you delete your account, Immi-Assist removes account-associated Firebase Authentication, database, storage, notification, OTP, and usage artifacts unless retention is legally required. Shared aggregate records may remain after identifying attribution is removed.

9. Security

We use access controls, encrypted transport, App Check/App Attest, rate limits, and restricted server-side operations. No system can guarantee absolute security. Contact us promptly if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

10. Your choices and rights

You can review or edit profile information, change communications, export available account data, sign out, or initiate permanent deletion from Profile in the app. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or information about our processing.

11. Children, international processing, and changes

Immi-Assist is not directed to children under 13. Service providers may process information outside your province or country, where it may be subject to local law. We may update this policy as the service or law changes and will update the effective date or provide additional notice where required.
